Path 12 from Hod to Geburrah (third circuit to sixth circuit) is called Mem meaning water or seas. This is a path between Mercury (Rational mind) and Mars (transforming mind) and is ruled by the symbol of the planet Neptune (water).

It is said of this path that when we quiet the mind, focus our meditation, and stop the third circuit monologue, we can get a direct experience of the sixth circuit superconsciousness. The path is a reflection of water with everything upside down and reversed. Basically, this means it is possible to reverse our thinking about even threats, adverse conditions, and trials to bring desirable conditions. To reverse conditions, reverse thinking. The wise person holds ideas and thoughts that are opposite to those held by the masses and the result is "the experience of absolute freedom."

Taking this path leads to the superconscious brain circuit the Tree of Life calls Geburrah. This sixth brain circuit has the capability of healing and altering the physical state of the body. You can learn to control blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, and many more body functions through this brain circuit.

To reach Geburrah from the Rational mind (third circuit going to sixth circuit) we must go into deep, focused meditation with a quieted third circuit Rational mind. According to the Tree of Life, you must "suspend your mental machine that you may see in the mirror of truth." This seems to work best when "unfocused" rather than a determined, tight, aware focus. Letting go really applies here. Start with heart rate and learn to slow that and build on the method.

This is not an overt Tantric path. The path can be worked without needing sensual input. However, it works best when the body esoteric energy is cleansed through special massage techniques aligning the Governor meridian and the Main meridian to avoid disrupting body energy. Since these alignments and cleansings of energy are very sensual, you can see that even in this path, Tantra will help to open the paths to higher powers. Interestingly enough, the entire left side of the Tree of Life is the female energy side and can be worked with Yin/Yang energy or with Yin/Yin energy (or various combinations of Yin and Yang). In most cases, such Tantric methods can aid and enhance the functioning of the left side of the Tree of Life and the brain circuits this represents. The middle pillar depends more on Tantric methods and the right side of the Tree of Life is almost entirely dependent on Tantric methods to attain those higher powers.
